The goal of this think-tank conducted in English and open to all is to bring together different actors of breast cancer prevention (researchers, clinicians, public health experts, patients’ associations, etc.) to discuss health promotion and breast cancer risk reduction. Four themes will be covered in the form of short introductory talks, panel discussions and interactions with the audience. The four discussion themes are (1) ‘is data gathering sufficient to identify who needs health interventions?’, (2) Exposome: Information from cell to the individual in context’, (3) ‘including the community at project inception’, (4) ‘promoting health and reducing cancer risk’.

A debriefing of the event will be done by the Gene-Environment focused Cancer Primary Prevention (CaPP) consortium during a working session in the morning of November 17th.

This think-tank organized under the tutelage of the International Breast Cancer & Nutrition (IBCN) network is meant to be international and integrative, with all disciplines involved in the discussions. We are convinced that diversity, whether regarding environmental context or expertise, is essential to deploy prevention globally, with the goal to provide appropriate prevention interventions worldwide while adopting region and population specific approaches.
